Emma Ostermeyer is an interdisciplinary artist born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She received her Associate of Arts Degree from Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College in 2023. She is currently a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Arts at University of Michigan Penny W. Stamps School of Art and Design. Growing up in a small town on Lake Superior inspired her to create artwork that celebrates the natural world.
Her earlier work explores the connections that we as humans have with the landscapes surrounding us. Working primarily in oil paints, her work has expanded to include large scaled figurative painting. Ostermeyer's recent projects explore her own experiences with reproductive health. She approaches art as a space for healing and vulnerability. She is extremely passionate about reproductive justice, and uses her work as a tool  for creating conversations around these topics.
