I took a positive pregnancy test on January 8th. I have never wanted to be pregnant, so those two pink lines terrified me. Thankfully, I live in a state where abortion is legal, and was able to schedule an appointment the following week. I went to a clinic full of compassionate staff and the process left me feeling immense relief.
This series fits together to tell the story of how I reclaimed my body through getting an abortion. The majority of anti-choice people are protesting for religious reasons, so the layout mimics that of the stained glass windows found in churches. Through this artwork, I aim to make sense of my own journey as well as work to destigmatize the topic of abortion.
